Acting Exam

At the same time as my singing exam I also took my LCM Grade 5 Acting Exam. I performed a monologue from the Witches by Roald Dahl. I also had to perform an improvisation on a topic that was given to me 15 prior to the exam, my topic was "My jewellery was there the last time I looked." I found the improvisation tricky because this was one of the first times I had ever done it but with more practise and experience it should become much easier. Finally I performed a sight reading from a play called "The Wild Thing." Again I managed to get a distinction, which I am very proud of considering this is the first acting exam I have ever taken. Here is the critique ...

It says -

The Witches - Vocally convincing as the Grand High Witch and face expressed thoughts throughout. Just a little hurried, take time to develop the mood and this strong character. 24/30
Improv - You had a strong storyline to your improvisation which you committed to and ended well. 26/30
Sight reading - Quite fluent with some sense of character. 9/10
Discussion and folder of work - A well prepared folder on Annie with your own personal experiences. I liked the comments from the other actors. Interesting comments regarding the acting and performing with a realisation of the har work involved. 28/30
Overall - 87/100 Distinction

I am very pleased with my results and will work hard in preparation for my next exam soon. I must practise my improvisation, which i struggled with and when I am performing monologues I must take my time to build up my character.
